About Biz611
Biz611 is a first-of-its-kind sustainable building in downtown Hendersonville. The building serves as an incubator to help cultivate small businesses focused on helping the environment, creating innovative technology and builders of the knowledge economy. Designed to encourage collaboration, creativity and interaction among the businesses, BIZ611 is the new breed of office space in WNC.
Biz611 (pronounced Biz Six Eleven) is located at 611 N. Church St. in downtown Hendersonville. It incorporates a long list of sustainable practices in the way it was built and in the way it’s designed to operate. The hope is that Biz611 will serve to educate the tenants, as well as the community, on sustainable building and operating practices.
The 9,500-square-foot two-story building has 16 individual spaces, ranging in size from a single-person office to an office that can accommodate six to eight people. It has shared kitchen and bathrooms, and a conference room/flexspace for the businesses to hold seminars and workshops. The building maximizes natural light, generates solar energy and captures water for use by way of an inverted roof and cistern. It also features a “living wall,” or a vertical green wall garden that faces Church Street.
